The faint smell of skunk is detected in the boys room. <sigh>
I woke up in a terrible mood this morning but quickly recovered.
Andrew is a little more resistant to learning than he once was. I have to investigate this a bit more.
I took the kids to the toy store to pick out a gift for a classmate, and they were good in the store, but when we left Antonio was very upset that I had bought nothing for him. He still has Christmas LEGOs in the box! I played with the kids a lot this afternoon. I wanted to help Antonio with his LEGOs they were getting all mixed up. And broken being on the table, I wanted to get them put up and away. So we played airport, for a bit, then I cleaned up (built a castle) while they played. So I suppose me playing with them was my way of organizing. Tonight I had dinner with my parents, brother, and Christine for her birthday. The kids were a little wound up, Andrew fell asleep as soon as we drove a block and a half, Antonio wanted to watch a show with me which sounded like a good idea, but was really bad. The program kept Bella awake...sheeesh. Poor thing.
On the radio I heard something interesting. Government transportation budget largely comes from gas tax. So there is a preety big incentive for the government to keep big gas guzzling cars on the road. I always wondered why American car companies couldn’t have made nice small cars that could compete with Japan’s. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Tomorrow I would like to do something with the kids. In the summer that might mean geocashing, but now...I don’t know what to do with them. Go shopping? Do a project? Start a new ..something. I have been wanting to start a new way of rewarding them. Antonio responds well to doing chores, and things when there is a reward, but it really has to be instantaneous, or he forgets about it,
The show I watched with Antonio was The Middle, and the parents stared doing what they wanted, not what their kids did...had some good points. Antonio did not understand, they kept saying "taking back the house" and he thought they were going to tear down their house.
Headache. Time for bed.
