reconciling to sunnier days ahead

We didn't really have anything planned today, so we went to the library.  I found a few book for kids and the sacraments.  I checked one out, and it is really good.  I made a few notes about reconciliation. I was so confused for my first reconciliation.  I thought there were two separate ones.  One where you tell the priest your sins, and one where you tell him how others sinned against you, and you forgive them.  So when the priest asked me to confess.  I told him my brother was mean.  I was probably more specific, but not much more because I was rather nervous.  The priest looked like he could think of about 100 other places he would rather be right at that moment.  He didn't correct me.  I figured it out later when we never really ever did the "other" reconciliation I was expecting.

I need to do it too.  I've been meaning to for only about a couple of years.

I did stop and think about my prayer a few times today.  We made a "count down to Easter" paper chain, and one for going to Mexico too, because the boys asked me about every day how many is it.  "How many days?" I ask.  About 40.  I may as well have said 40 hundred, (a number Antonio thinks exists) and they groan.  But is a good idea.  We do lots of things to prepare for Christmas, I think it is good to have those visual things around the house for Lent/Easter too.

Antonio is learning his numbers, how to recognize a number of objects without counting them.  He is doing well, and is proud of himself, but he needs to work on his reading more too.  I asked Andrew to read some simple words today at the library, and he did, rather easily.  I might see if he can read those Bob books too.

Abel said he wants to quit P.F. Changs to have more time at home.  I say it can't be soon enough.  They love him there, maybe they will offer to increase his pay to get him to stay....ha ha ha.

Tomorrow I think I will start on prayer.  Maybe I will go over the Our Father.  Step by step.  There is probably a good book for that too.

The baby and I are feeling better today.  Looking forward to sunnier days ahead....although not in the next week or so, rain, rain, rain.
